Learn in Alvin ISD

Lakes of Savannah residents are located in the TEA Exemplary-rated Alvin Independent School District. The district, which has long retained a Recognized rating, was recently elevated to an Exemplary by the Texas Education Agency based on the outstanding results achieved district wide by students on the Texas Assessment of Knowledge Skills (TAKS) test. Alvin is one of five large Houston area school districts named as Exemplary. Statewide, only a small percentage of districts earn the coveted Exemplary rating.

Students attend three recently-opened campuses, all featuring the latest in educational technology and concepts. Parents will also have the ability to send their high school graduates off to award-winning local colleges and universities, such as Alvin Community College and the University of Houston.

The Bridge program was designed by the Alvin ISD Police Department to take portions of the DARE and GREAT programs and include parental involvement. The BRIDGE program will involve a series of ten lessons which will be taught to fifth graders at every elementary school in Alvin. These lessons will also be taught to the parents in settings where they are comfortable. The idea is to bridge the relationship between the schools, the parents, the police and the community.
