Third Annual Bay Area Houston Art Festival

The Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake (TAACCL) is hosting its Third Annual Bay Area Houston Art Festival November 6-7. The event debuted in October of 2007, and in 2008 ushered in a variety of artists, music, dance and food, with performances and activities for the whole family. It is a way to “bring the arts together” for the community and visitors across the state and country. Last year’s event was attended by over 1,300 patrons and this year they hope to double attendance!

This year’s expansion includes a series of “stages” or different venues throughout the bay area where patrons can go to experience a variety of “fun and enlightening” activities. Attendees will have the opportunity to view and purchase original works from a variety of area artists and craftsmen. Designer and woodworker Jeremy Grubbs is bringing his tools along to give his patrons a hands-on woodworking presentation, and to demonstrate how he creates each unique piece of furniture from nature. “It has to have feel and touch, and if the woodworker hasn’t made you want to do that, he hasn’t done his job,” he said.

To draw you in each venue will offer unique artwork, food and entertainment, as well as hands on activities to keep children of all ages engaged, including a moonwalk and rock climbing at the Arts Alliance Venue. The event will take place at The Arts Alliance Center at Clear Lake, 2000 NASA Pkwy, Nassau Bay; Sundance Grill at Waterford Harbor, Kemah; and Mediterraneo Market and Café, Nassau Bay. The cost is $3 per person with children under age 12 entering free.
